The postponement of non-emergency surgeries due to patient unpreparedness significantly impacts patients’ quality of life and hospital resource management efficiency. Effective communication can help mitigate these issues. The SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) communication technique, implemented through an online platform like Google Form, was developed to systematize communication and reduce errors. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of SBAR-based patient information communication via Google Form in reducing surgery cancellations due to patient unpreparedness, and to assess both the hospital communication system’s readiness and nursing staff satisfaction with the SBAR technique. Methods: This qua si-experimental study employed a one-group post-test design. The sample consisted of 73 patients scheduled for non-emergency surgery at Kabinburi Hospital between August and October 2024. The research instruments included an SBAR-based patient information communication form implemented through Google Form and pa tient record forms. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution and percentages. Results: Following the implementation of SBAR communication via Google Form, all patients underwent surgery as scheduled, with no cancellations due to patient unpreparedness. Conclusion: The implementation of SBAR communication through Google Form demonstrated effectiveness in preventing surgery cancellations due to patient unpreparedness, suggesting its potential as a valuable tool for improving surgical scheduling efficiency and patient care coordination.
