Analysis of the phenology to study rainfed rice growing stage and rainfed rice detection using time-series satellite: A case study of Dokkumtai District, Phayao Province

Botanical morphology and phenology of paddy fields changing over time. Are the key factor for monitoring growth stage and paddy fields area promptly and accurately including the research and development for increasing competitivity with government policies to achieve the goal of the country. This study used the image satellite obtained from Sentinel-2 by using the Google Earth Engine platform to create a vegetation phenology graph and study the rainfed rice growth stage using mathematical processes to detect start of season and end of season. The findings indicated that in Dokkumtai district, Phayao province most of the paddy fields in rainfed areas and use rainwater-based. As a result, can be planting only a single crop (In-season rice). The cropping season of rice between May-November and such period applies to selection data of Image difference divided into 2 methods consisting of single image method and composite image. the accuracy assessment by overall accuracy and kappa coefficient. It was found that composite image method can give more accuracy single image method without noise signals due to clouds. The result of the study will show on web application can be using the browser and the extension and used as a guideline for further development of the Rice monitoring platform and solving the complexity of sustainable agriculture.
